NTA UGC NET Notification 2020 – Check Important Dates. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has going to notification for UGC NET .The important dates for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). The following is the schedule of Examinations to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) during December 2019 to June 2020. The examinations will be conducted in different cities at All India level. The candidates can download the UGC NET important dates from our website now to avoid the last minute rush.

The following is the schedule of Examinations to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) during December 2019 to June 2020. The examinations will be conducted in different cities at All India level. NTA has established a countrywide network of Test Practice Centres (TPCs) across India to familiarize aspiring students. All students have an opportunity to practice and have first-hand experience of taking “Computer Based Test (CBT)” before the exam. 4000 Schools/ engineering colleges with computer centers will be available on every Saturday/Sunday starting from 1st September, 2019 and more Schools/ engineering colleges with computer centres will be added in time to come. The candidates can choose the nearest TPC. This facility is available free of cost as a support measure, especially for candidates hailing from remote and rural areas.

The TPCs will have a downloaded “Computer Based Test (CBT)” which will be similar to the actual test to be conducted on the exam day. The TPCs will help the candidates to familiarize themselves with logging into the systems, going through the detailed instructions regarding the test, using mouse or numeric keyboard on screen (virtual) for attempting calculation based questions, scrolling down or scrolling up for the next questions, navigating between questions, review and editing their options and submitting them.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Important Dates:

NTA UGC NET 2020 Age Limit:

Maximum 28 years {upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/ female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) applicants}

NTA UGC NET 2020 Education Qualification:

  • Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
  • Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship.
  • Such candidates will have to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared. B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with 6 Bachelor’s degrees will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/ enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D program within the validity period of two years.
  • Candidates possessing only Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply only for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/ Associate Professorship. Specification of degrees (whether Bachelor’s or Master’s) as notified by UGC in its Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) dated 5th July, 2014 and as amended from time to time, shall apply.
  • The eligibility for lectureship/ Assistant Professorship of NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC. Ph.D degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991 with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship only.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Application Fee:

  • General/General-EWS – Rs. 1000/-
  • OBC-NCL*- Rs. 500/-
  • SC/ST/PwD – Rs. 250/-

Processing charges & Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable

NTA UGC NET 2020 Fee Concession:

Candidates may be asked to upload a self-attested copy of his/her category certificate as proof of his/her claim when instructed. Claims/requests for any concession/relaxation in fee, age and/or educational qualification not accompanied by a self-attested copy of a valid SC/ST/OBC (NCL) /PwD (40% or more disability) certificate from a competent authority and in prescribed format, will be summarily rejected. OBC candidates, who are not covered under the provision of Non Creamy Layer (NCL) as per the provisions of Govt. of India shall not be eligible to get the benefit of relaxation in age, fee concession etc. Candidate must note that for availing OBC category benefit, CSIR follows only Central Govt. list and not the State Govt. lists. Similarly, candidate applying under PwD category may note that Govt. of India rules will be applicable in this regard, otherwise they shall not be eligible for any concession.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Provision for Persons with Disability (PwD) having 40% or more Disability:

  • Candidates with disabilities having 40% or more disability in upper limbs, visual impairment, low vision, cerebral palsy who have physical limitation to write with that of speed, will be provided the services of a scribe if they indicate requirement in their online application.
  • Candidates with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe shall be provided, if so requested by the candidate in their online application.
  • Other category of persons with benchmark disabilities who requested for scribe in their online application will be provided scribe only on production of a certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure- XI) to the effect that the person has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government health care Institution.
  • Candidates covered under para (i) and (ii) above will be allowed to meet the scribe a day before the date of examination so as to verify whether the scribe is suitable or not, after getting confirmation from the respective Centre Superintendent.
  • The qualification of the scribe to be brought by the candidate should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination. The candidate with benchmark disabilities opting for own scribe should submit details of the own scribe in the prescribed proforma (Annexure – XIII). The original copy should be submitted to Centre Superintendent at the exam venue on the day of examination.
  • PwD candidates will also be given compensatory time of 60 minutes in addition to the 3 hours duration of the Exam.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Admit Card:

National Testing Agency (NTA) has going to release the admit card for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). Candidates can download their admit cards w.e.f. 15th May, 2020 as per the following schedule by log in Official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. Candidates are requested to download their admit cards within the period mentioned above. After the above period, no admit card will be issued. Therefore, all the applied candidates are advised to download their admit card(s) along with instructions and to bring admit cards in respective examination centre on the day of examination.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Exam Center:

The City of Examination Centres where the test shall be conducted are in the Official Notification. It is mandatory for candidates to select four cities of their choice while filling Online Application Form of CSIR-UGC NET. Effort will be made to allot Centre of examination to the candidates in order of the City choice opted by them in their Application Form. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city of a nearby area may be allotted.

NTA UGC NET Exam Pattern

The Examination shall be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) only. The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between papers.

NTA UGC NET 2020 Answer Key:

The Written examination for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) will going to be conduct by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 15 June 2020 to 20 June 2020. NTA UGC NET 2020 Syllabus
