Educational Qualification:

Associate Professor

(I) A recognised Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956); (II) post-graduate Degree in the speciality or super-speciality in the following courses, namely: A Cardiology- Doctorate of Medicine (Cardiology); B Neurology- Doctorate of Medicine (Neurology) ; C Radiology- Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery (Radiology)

Assistant Professor

Essential: (I) A recognised Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956); (II) post-graduate Degree in the speciality or super-speciality in the following courses, namely:- (A) Anaesthesia- Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology); or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology); (B) (CTVS) – Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Thoracic Surgery); or Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Vascular Surgery) ; (C) Gastro surgery- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Gastroenterology); or Master of Surgery (Surgery) with two years special training in Surgical Gastroenterlogy; (D) Nephrology- Doctorate of Medicine (Nephrology); (E) Neurology- Doctorate of Medicine (Neurology) ; (F) Neurosurgery- Magister Chirurguie (Neuro-Surgery) ; (G) Pathology – Doctor of Medicine (Pathology) or Doctor of Philosophy (Pathology); or Doctor of Science (Pathology) ; (H) Psychiatry- Doctor of Medicine (Psychiatry) or Doctor of Medicine (Psychological Medicine) or Doctor of Medicine in Medicine with Diploma in Psychological Medicine or Diploma in Psychiatry (Edin) of two years course or Diploma in Psychiatry (Mc.Gill) University, Montreal, Canada of two years’ course; (I) Pulmonary Medicine- Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases or Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases) ; (J) Radiology- Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery (Radiology) ; (K) Surgical Oncology- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Oncology) or Master of Surgery or Master of Surgery (Ear, Nose, Throat) or Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) or Doctor of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) with two years special training in Surgical Oncology; (L) Urology- Magister Chirurguie (Urology);

Professor

(I) A recognised Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956); (II) Post-graduate Degree in the speciality or super-speciality in the following courses, namely:- (A) Gastro surgery- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical))Gastroenterology); or Master of Surgery (Surgery) with two years special training in Surgical Gastroenterology (B) Nephrology- Doctorate of Medicine (Nephrology); (C) Neurology- Doctorate of Medicine (Neurology) ; (D) Psychiatry- Doctor of Medicine (Psychiatry) or Doctor of Medicine (Psychological Medicine) or Doctor of Medicine in Medicine with Diploma in Psychological Medicine or Diploma in Psychiatry (Edin) of two years course or Diploma in Psychiatry (Mc.Gill) University, Montreal, Canada of two years’ course ; (E) Radiology- Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery (Radiology)

Scientist E

MD/MS/DNB or equivalent degree* in relevant specialization as mentioned above with seven years RftD/ Teaching/ Working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector I Private Institu

Scientist (Medical)

MD/MS/DNB or equivalent degree* in relevant specialization as mentioned above with 5 years R&D/ teaching/ working experience in a Govt/Public Sector I Private Institutions OR MBBS degree recognized by MCI with Ph.D.(in relevant specialization as mentioned above) and 4 years R&D/teaching/working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector I Private Institutions

Scientist (Vertinary)

MVSc degree recognized by VCI with 6 years R&D/ teaching/ working experience in a Govt/Public sector/ Private Institutions

Age Limit:

Assistant Professor

Not exceeding forty years. (Relaxation, if applicable, will be given in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the ICMR from time to time)

Professor, Associate Professor, Scientist – D and Scientist – E

Not exceeding fifty years. (Relaxation, if applicable, will be given in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the ICMR from time to time)

General Instruction:

  1. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.
  2. The candidates called for personal discussion/interview have the option to answer in Hindi or English.
  3. The candidates should be of sound health. Selected candidates will have to produce a fitness certificate from Medical Board.
  4. Any dispute with regard to the recruitment against the advertisement will be under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Court.
  5. The candidates may please note that in respect of the posts notified for reserved categories, only the candidates belonging to the concerned category will be eligible to appear for Walk in Interview

How to apply:

  • Candidates should appear for WALK IN INTERVIEW at the Indian Council of Medical Research, V. Ramalingaswami Bhawan, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi- 110029 on the scheduled date and time.
  • Following self attested required documents are to be enclosed along with the application in the enclosed proforma
    1. Proof of Date of Birth
    2. Educational qualifications
    3. Experience
    4. Caste Certificate (wherever applicable) etc.
    5. Two recent passport size photograph
  • Candidates will have to bring the original of all the documents at the time of personal interaction.

Other conditions:

  1. In the event of any false information furnished or suppression of any material in the application comes to notice at any time during the service of a person, his/her service would be liable to be terminated.
  2. Application unsigned/incomplete or without supportive documents is liable to be rejected and the candidate may not be allowed to appear for interview.
  3. The application from employees working in Centre/State Government Department/Public Sector Undertakings & Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel along with the certificate of the employer that the applicant will be relieved within three months of his/her receipt of appointment order.
  4. Any outside influence (political or otherwise) brought in by a candidate shall disqualify him/her.
  5. Any matter for which no specific instruction has been given shall be decided by ICMR and the decision shall be final and binding on the candidates.
